My name is Elliott Childress and I am one of the two Health and Physical Education teachers at Braxton Craven Middle School. This is my 8th year teaching at Braxton and my 9th year teaching overall. I've had an awesome 7 years here so far and am looking forward to another great school year in 2018-2019.

I am originally from Yadkinville, North Carolina. I currently reside in High Point. I have one brother, Cory, who is also a Health and Physical Education teacher in Cabarrus County.

I attended Appalachian State University and graduated Summa Cum Laude in the Fall of 2009. I earned a degree in Physical Education K-12 with a second academic concentration in Human Studies. I was a member of the Physical Education Major's Club and the Club Baseball team while I was there. I also obtaiuned my Masters Degree in Physical Education from East Carolina University in 2017. I look forward to sharing my passion and knowledge for health and  physical education with our students.

Aside from teaching, I am an assistant baseball coach for Ledford High School and for the High Point Post 87 Senior American Legion team. In my spare time, I enjoy playing golf, running, lifting weights, relaxing at my family's beach house, reading, tailgating, and spending time with my friends and family. My favorite sports teams are the Atlanta Braves, Carolina Panthers, Appalachian State Mountaineers, and the North Carolina Tar Heels.
