The BCMS Math Dept., under the leadership of Holly Grissom, held a "Math at Work Fair" for the school's sixth grade students on November 7, 2016.  Numerous community and parent volunteers shared how they use math in their jobs on a daily basis.  The purpose of the fair was to demonstrate to students the necessity of learning and using math skills in the real world, beyond their school careers.  The students traveled through four different stations to learn how math is used in four different career areas.  The Braxton Craven staff also offered opportunities for hands-on math activities.  The successful event proved to be an eye-opening experience for the students.  BCMS students and staff would like to thank all the volunteers who made this event possible.
